He commenced his professional career as a senior equity research analyst at several premier global investment banks, including Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities and Goldman Sachs Japan. During his tenure, he was responsible for conducting in-depth research on Japanese equities, with a particular focus on the machinery sector. His research was widely recognized for its originality and distinctive perspective. In 2014, he was ranked No.1 in the machinery sector and achieved the top analyst ranking for two consecutive years (2014–2015) in Institutional Investor’s (now Extel) prestigious analyst rankings, becoming the youngest individual to receive this distinction at the time. He has also been a regular contributor to major media outlets in Japan, including TV Tokyo, where he provided expert market commentary.

In 2015, he joined the Asia office (Hong Kong) of Marshall Wace, one of the world’s foremost equity hedge funds, where he managed a Japan-focused long/short equity portfolio and was honored with the AsiaHedge Best Performance Award. Subsequently, in 2020, he was appointed as a Managing Director at ExodusPoint Capital Management, a prominent New York-based hedge fund, where he led the firm’s Japan equity investment strategies. Through his extensive experience in long/short equity investing across leading hedge funds and proprietary trading firms, he has developed a deep and nuanced understanding of both domestic and international industries and companies.

In January 2025, he established this firm in Singapore, where he currently resides and oversees the firm’s strategic direction.
